K.A.M Alliance serves as a DCFS Child Welfare Service provider for Lake County Illinois children and families.
This is a program designed to offer services to families, reported to the Department, where the risk to the child is deemed low enough for short-term (an average of 30 days) involvement, but where some services are needed to assure that families can effectively utilize their own strengths and community resources to ensure the safety of their children and prevent future Department involvement.
K.A.M Alliance offers this program to youth and families in the Lake County area and is designed to ensure that DCFS youth and their families are stabilized in permanent, affordable, and adequate housing.
We offer counseling and assistance to help the Client locate permanent housing. and educate on how to obtain and remain in appropriate housing.
Eligible participants are families referred by DCFS that have children that are in danger of being placed in, or cannot be returned home from DCFS care due to inadequate housing; or, a family headed by a youth who aged out of DCFS care, is parenting their own children, and is DCFS referred for a federal housing subsidy.
For more information or to establish service, please send a message on our 'contact us' page.
The K.A.M Alliance A.V.I.D Youth 'Dose of Reality' Boot-camp is a 6-hour all day workshop 'dose of reality' for adolescents and youth aged 10-17.
*This workshop is a ‘scared straight’ tactic program held 4 times per year for those youth who have not landed in the Youth Detention Center but are heading fast in that direction!
*It is our hope that the youth who attend will walk out with a sense of WHY they need to conduct themselves as responsible, respectable youth, prepared to lead tomorrow’s future.
Stay tuned to this page for the next 'Dose of Reality' Boot-camp event!
